HOW IT WORKS
To study Chinese online at ChineseSession.com is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Register. Register online by answering some basic questions to arrange trial class. There is no charge and no credit card or bank information will be asked. You will get a confirmation number and be notified for the trial class.
- Try. Show up at your computer with your preferred software (Skype or MSN messenger) and take the free trial class or tutor session.
- Learn. If you are satisfied, simply buy more class or tutor sessions through our secure server. For every paid online class session, you will get one free companion tutoring session.
Please note, you will need following equipment to make it work:
- Hardware. An Internet and multimedia enabled device, such as PC, a Mac, a PDA. Please make sure you have a microphone, a speaker and a web cam that connected to the computer to get the best result.
- Internet. Broadband Internet connection is preferred. Dial-up is workable with audio only, but the result will be far from optimal.
- Software. An instant messaging software is necessary to get the live conversation. For cross platform compatibility, we recommend Skype. However, we will accommodate your preferred instant messaging software, such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and AOL IM.
Step by step instruction of setting up Skype:
- Download Skype from http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windows/ if you use windows platform. If you use other OS like Mac, you can find the corresponding downloading link at the right hand of the browser window.
- Register a user ID in Skype, and select your password.
- Test your sound equipment, under Tools-->Options-->General-->Audio Setting, and the web cam under Tools-->Options-->General-->video Setting.
- Under Contacts, click Add Contact, type ChineseSession, select the one with ChineseSession only, click Add Skype Contact.
- A new window will pop up. You will be asked to put any message if you want. You can ignore it or say something about “I want to join ChineseSession.com to learn Chinese”. Click OK.
- Then you are done.
